Is it safe to see a chiropractor when pregnant ??

I'm 18 weeks. I have scoliosis ( curve spin )

I have sciatica nerve problems. Probably a out of place collar bone ( I say probably because it's happen before) and this jabbing pain in the middle of back near spin under shoulder blades... ahhhh ..... trying to see a massage therapist but wondering if it's safe to see a chiropractor since I can get in earlier.

Yes, it is safe. I'd recommend looking for someone who has spent time training specifically with pregnant women. Your OB may be able to recommend or local parenting/mom support groups may have a list of local providers.

They have special benches for women who are farther along.

Yes. Look for someone who is Webster certified. This has been one of the biggest helps for me!

i can't agree more! the webster technique is fantastic for pregnant women. most importantly, make sure they have lots of experience with mommies to be!

Yes. I went after my car accident back in June I'm 33 week now. Both my chiropractors wife's were about to deliver and they still went also.

I've been seeing one for over a month now (am almost 30 weeks)Just make sure they have experience working on pregnant women.  My chiropractor has a special pillow that allows me to lay on my stomach and she doesn't do any twisting adjustments on me.She's been a god-send!

I was but my OB asked me to stop. He said since he's had a practice he's had 4 pregnant women rushed to the hospital bc of issues after getting their necks adjusted. Idk exactly why. He just said he doesn't like it.

Yes for sure! Find one trained to work with pregnant women. I have scoliosis and several other back/neck issues and mine was a huge help in pregnancy (and she actually came to my birth center and adjusted me while I was in labor). Mine is also trained to adjust babies and I had my LO adjusted at a week old 😊 If you ask a chiro, they should tell you whether they have the training.

Yes yes yes yes yes! The more aligned and loose your spine and hips are, the easier you'll open up!

I started going at 9 weeks I'm now at 21 weeks. I beginning to feel less comfortable about it. I know it's safe but I'm so worried. But it definitely helped when the back pain was awful
