Boys made their debut... born at 31 weeks 6 days

Nikki
My pregnancy was a wild ride. Finding out at 20 weeks it was twins. Initially thought to be mono mono... 21 weeks discover they are mono di and am diagnosed with TTTS. Spend the next two weeks driving all over the place meeting with MFM doctor and specialists at the Children's Hospital. Because I was only stage one didn't qualify for surgery... but if it progressed local hospital wasn't equipped for surgery so I would have to fly. 23 weeks my water ruptured, no longer a candidate for surgery. Spent three weeks in hospital on bed rest and came home at 26 weeks on light activity and rest rest rest. Things were on the upward swing once home we had twice weekly appointments... babies were both looking good. Fluid levels were starting to normalize. Yay! At our 30 week appointment our MFM was so pleased he said let's do one appointment next week. So we chose Friday. We got there and I was hooked up for NST at which time I noticed Baby A's heartbeat wasn't accelerating like it normally did and I mentioned to the nurse that I had felt them move over the last week but they were quieter (I attributed it to lack of space as they were both getting bigger.) She indicated that everything looked okay but they would take a better look at my ultrasound. My tech was 5 minutes into scan and said "I don't like what I'm seeing, I'm going to go get the doctor incase it's something that needs immediate attention."
Doctor came in - gave me a brief stern "I told you if anything was different to come in."
Then followed the words..."we are gonna have to deliver these babies, right now." He didn't like baby A's lack of movement and his inconsistency with his heart rate. This was between 9:45 am-10:00 am. I had enough time to call and make sure I had someone to pick up my older kids ... as they wheeled me in a wheel chair to the birthing center. The boys were born via c-section at 10:50 and 10:51 am.
They are in the NICU and doing well... need to gain weight, regulate body temp, take all feedings by bottle, and be spell free for five days. Praying they are out by 36 weeks gestation ... another 3 weeks... 😞
Meet my beautiful baby boys!
