Hickeys can be fun, but sometimes a partner can get a bit carried away and leave you with a giant fun-bite at an inopportune time. I know many of us have stories like that, so share your most cringe-worthy hickey experiences here.

Here's mine:

I was just shy of 18. During highschool, I was VERY well behaved and modest. Yes, I had made out with boys and had even had sex (once), but in general I kept my love life very much to myself, other than some chats with my mother. I never, ever mentioned these things with my father--not because he was super strict, but out of respect for him.

However, my first week of college, it suddenly clicked with me that I was unsupervised, so I got drunk for the very first time, and ended up in a very heavy make out session with a hot Junior. The result? A GIANT hicky on the side of my neck and down my collar bone.

At first I was proud. It showed that I was *finally* getting into 'normal' teenage shenanigans. But then reality hit me: I remembered that the next day was the start of Commencement weekend, and my father was coming up for the ceremony!

My school was VERY posh and stuffy, so Commencement was a rather formal event. The dress I had bought for it certainly did not cover my neck in any way, and the hicky was so huge that no amount of cover-up or necklaces could hide it.

When my father arrived, I quickly told him that my beautiful new perfume and lotion set had "caused a terrible rash on the side of my neck that looked like a hickey". I played up the embarrassment and also feigned sadness that I was allergic to my new perfume/lotion. He seemed to believe me, and even bought me an oinment for it.

Years later, my dad and I still laugh about it. He knew what it was the whole time, but just humored me because he knew I was embarrassed.
