After having your baby, when did you feel comfortable letting someone else baby sit?

I have my first baby in April, and a friend who is also pregnant (due in February) wants to go on a couples cruise to Mexico in August.. I think it may be too soon for me to leave me baby though, but I also don't know what to expect. Should I wait until Summer '18 to do vacations like that? When did you start letting someone watch your baby? This is so scary for me lol

A YEAR!!! I know I'll change my mind, but that's the rule I have in place right now. Also, I'm due April 25th and we're going on a family vacation to Florida June 15th and I plan on going and taking the baby with me.

It sort of depends on if you plan on exclusively breastfeeding or not too.
I plan on exclusively breastfeeding for the first 6 months and then continue with breastfeeding as we start to introduce solid foods.  So that means I wouldn't be able to be away from baby for more than a couple of hours (I have no intention of pumping either)
My MIL was hoping to have our baby when we go on our FAMILY vacation with my family to Disney next June when baby will be 4-5 months old - i basically laughed in her face 😳

I couldn't stand the idea of being away from my first overnight until he was over a year. Even then it was just one night and we actually stayed in a hotel about 30 minutes drive from home (basically just to have a night away and celebrate my birthday in the big city). It gets easier as they get older but I definitely don't think I could do a whole week until he was like 2 or 3 years old. I can't actually remember how old he was the first time I was away from him for that long (he's 14 now, and his sister is 12) but I vividly remember how anxious I was that first overnight away.

My son is 26 months old and I let him few times with my inlaws or my mom for a max of 3 hours lol. I can t stay without him cuse I worry, people don t know him so well and he would be uncomfortable, not eat etc

My baby will be 3 months when she goes to a sitter.  Although the sitter will most likely be my sister or my sister in law

I didn't let anyone watch my child overnight until 12 months, and even then it was for less than 24 hours. To me, 4 months seems awfully young to leave for a vacation, I could never do it. I didn't leave my kids for an extended period of time until my son was 18 months and my daughter was 4. It's hard to leave overnight when you are breastfeeding.

My mom I let babysit like, right away. I few weeks old for a couple hours. But it took me like 4-6 months before I was cool with someone else.
