No more kids?!

Question

I'm a first time mom and had my baby boy a month and a half ago. While I love him very very much, it's been hard! Being so sleep deprived an all I feel like I never want more kids even though before having him we were talking about having 3-4. Will this feeling change? I really hope it will!

The first couple weeks after my daughter was born I kept thinking nobody talks about this shit because nobody would ever have kids. 6 months later we were actively ttc #2. My daughter just turned 1 and I'm 22wks pregnant!!

Right now I say no more, but I know I will want another baby. It's a lot of work, but she's so sweet.

I'm laughing because around 2 months I always have a nervous breakdown and tell my husband to enjoy the baby because it's our last. Then we have more. We now have 3. My 3rd is (knock on wood) a good sleeper, my first 2 boys were NOT, no nervous breakdown this time because I'm sleeping. I believe your sanity will improve once the baby is sleeping more, at least it did for me. Your baby is too young for formal sleep training yet, though you can do a consistent night routine. When he's a little older, don't be hesitant to do gentle cry it out sleep training if you need to.  I felt so guilty doing it and it gets a bad rap sometimes, like your child will be emotionally traumatized. I did it with my now 4 year old and 2 year old because I was suffering from pp depression and anxiety from the severe sleep deprivation  and they are absolutely happy and well attached kids who sleep through the night in their beds...and they have a happier life cuz momma ain't so crazy when she gets sleep! :) I think you'll want more once you're feeling better

They grow so fast that these sleepless nights will be just a distant memory. I was in the middle of pushing with my daughter and I was like what the hell was I thinking I've changed my mind.. It all goes so fast and they change so quickly that you won't even think about it

There were so many nights with my first that i was like "no way in hell im having another one." When she was 4 months old, i got pregnant and i couldnt be happier to have two. There still are days when i wonder why i got myself into this but then she smiles and honestly, i forget all about it

I feel the same way but I can believe once my LO gets a bit more self sufficient I will see sweet babies around and want another one. I hope to try for #2 when LO is 2.

Hahaa I love it ! We are all feeling similar !

After having my first child I felt the same way! 9 years later I HAD ANOTHER ONE .

And yes I'm back in the same boat saying THIS IS IT!

I also had her natural with no drugs/epidural haha so I'm really like THIS IS IT!

But as much as I just love babies ... and I also have a great man... I'm sure when my youngest is 3 I'll have baby fever again and maybe when she's 5 (in school and out of my face haha) I'll try again for baby #3

I'm a FTM myself & sometimes I get those "one & done" feelings (especially from 2-4am when she's fussy) & when I think about how expensive having children is (especially where I live)... but at other times I look at how adorable she is & I think about how much I absolutely LOVE being a mom & I want like 5 more! (Just kidding about the 5) Maybe just 1 or 2 more 💕

I'm the opposite. We've got the 🦄 kid at 9 mo and are stopping at 1. We hit our happy dynamic and are done. :)
