If you're having a baby girl, are you planning on piercing her ears? If yes when?

I'll get them pierced when she's old enough to ask for them in the first place. I was pierced at a young age and I don't think it's traumatic or anything, just not something I feel comfortable doing as a parent.

I never really had any opinion on it until I worked at a daycare for 3 years. I took care of 1 & 2 year olds and they would always lose their earrings and the parents would get upset with us or another child would be playing too rough and would rip them out and their ears would bleed. I'd just rather wait.

Was in Claire's the other day hearing a baby screaming while getting ears pierced. I never understood why anyone would do that because "it looks cute to them".  That's something I want my daughter to decide for herself.

I have a daughter shes 5 now but i pierced her ears at 2 months after inmunization and she was fine never cried for pain but i gave her tylenol just in case!! I think after 2 months its fine!

I waited until my daughters were able to ask me to get their ears pierced. My daughter was 5 when she asked and her younger sister who was 3 wanted hers done the same day too then.

My last child was a little girl and I got her ears pierced at 4 weeks old. Never regret it and she loves changing then out now. :) she's five.

I'm waiting until she is old enough to ask for them and old enough to have them pierced by a professional piercer. I'm fine with her having her ears pierced but I would never have them done by someone with a piercing gun who isn't a professional.

Got my daughters done same day as her 2 month immunizations. I'd recommend an actual piecing shop that specializes and not Clair's. Their training isn't good. I don't regret my decision in the slightest. She barely cried, cleaning and caring for them for 8 weeks was a sench, didn't hurt her to sleep on them, no pain, no infection because I wasn't battling a 5+ year old to clean them twice a day for 56 days. I grew up around a lot of Latino families and in their culture it's totally expected to get infants ears pierced... It was never a question for me really!
