If like to clarify that I said yes but would expect a knock first. From anyone not just her.

If she knocked, sure. Otherwise no, you don't enter any room without knocking.

If other people are comfortable being around me pumping, fine by me! I'd rather not sit alone anyway!

My MIL lives with us. I used to try to find places to hide and pump (yes, in my own home. None of the doors lock because we're renovating). But it got to be such a hassle. I'd be pumping and the baby would need me from the living room. Finally I just said eff it. Now I sit on the couch in the middle of the living room and just pump. Ya know what? I've found it's more embarrassing for the person walking in on me than for me. Pumps are loud enough to hear from the next room over and the noise is repetitive, most people know what's going on before walking in.

I breastfeed in the open and with no cover so anyone seeing me pump doesn't make me uncomfortable

Would I live? Yes. Would I be furious? Yes. The sheer lack of privacy during and following the birth of my daughter was harder than some of the other aspects. I'm a prude and I know it, but MIL and FIL have known me almost a decade and know I'm a prude. 😝
