Support belt time limit?

So I finally got myself a belt to help support my back yesterday evening. I decided to sleep in it as well because it allowed me to lay without messing with a pillow for under my belly....lol its almost 1pm the next day and I have yet to take it off......should I be using this in doses, or is it OK to wear around as much as I please?

They are helpful, I've got 2 and would die without mine. However don't wear it that long or sleep in it.

I agree with the previous comment. The woman at Motherhood Maternity and my OB said definitely do not sleep in it. Just about 4-5 hours a day is plenty.

My belt came with instructions indicating that I shouldn't wear it for more than a few hours a day. My midwife thought that wearing it for more than two or three hours a day I was excessive and would affect my muscle tone in my core (allowing it to get slack and not be able to support my stomach/back).
I try to only use it when I have to stand in one place for a long period of time - as that's when I start to really feel uncomfortable.
I'm not sure I would recommend sleeping in it as I would also worry that it would encourage baby to go breach or transverse but I don't know any information to support that worry.
