I just found out both my parents have diabetes I feel like my life just fell apart idk what I'd do with out my parents they are my life I really hope god doesn't take them away from me I would seriously lose my mind I can't believe this is happening my dad is 67 this is the worst news ever ! 😰😥😥😥😥  worst year as well nothing has been good

If it's type 2 from being overweight or obese, it can go away if the weight is lost. If it's not from weight gain and it's type one or two, it will not go away. Type 1 requires insulin injections or an insulin pump and a proper diet, while type 2 can sometimes be controlled with just diet and exercise, but can require pills or injections. Ive been diabetic for 14 years, diagnosed at 7. It's awful, but it's a manageable disease. If they take care of themselves, they'll be around a long time.

I'm not trying to be a Debbie downer but we will all go sometime. Now that you know, spend time with them and and cherish it.

This may not be the case for everyone but yes, diabetes can go away. Technically it's always there (so the Drs say) but with a change in diet eventually there may be no need for medication or insulin.

We almost lost my mom Dec 2015 due to complications of diabetes we didn't know she had. She was in ICU for 4 days and after 7 days in the hospital she was finally released 2 days before Christmas (best Christmas present ever). She was put on metformin and 2 kinds of insulin. I changed her diet completely and by Feb 2016 she was off all meds. And in March 2016 her bloodwork (A1C) came back in the normal range. It can be done. It is difficult and takes a whole lot of dedication and meal prep.
