This can't be normal

Hi ladies, I am seeking some kind of advice or if anybody also went throught it and how did you deal with it?
-
First I must say I have suffered with migraines my whole life, since I was a little child. Everything got better after I had sinus surgery and I only got those bad migraines around my period.
-
I am now 16 weeks pregnant and I have been having migraines for 3 days straight, or sometimes is not a migraine but its a pressure pain all over my head, very strong and horrible!
My doctor prescribed me a medicine but it doesn't help, and I cant stand this anymore! I know headaches are normal during this time, but I never heard of someone having such bad shooting pain almost every day! I drink plenty of water and try to stay as healthy as possible. What could this be? I'm desperate.

Not to worry but my midwife said if I get migraines that aren't normal to how I've had them in the past that I need to go to the Dr to be tested for preeclampsia. I really don't want to scare you and I hope the remedies work that have been suggested but keep in mind then ask your Dr if they don't clear? Good luck

Thank you!! Yes if they dont stop I will check with her to get tested.

Unfortunately migraines are often hormonal, and your hormones are all over the place right now. The only thing I was able to take while pregnant for migraines was Excedrin Tension. Sometimes Gatorade or coconut water helps. And a snack.

I guess it depends on how often you were getting them before you were pregnant. I hope you find some relief!

Try putting your hands and feet in fairly warm water and a cold compress on the back of your neck, helps to relieve some of the pressure sometimes

I had to drink an entire bottle of water every morning as soon as I woke up and then a cup of coffee, plus at least half to a full bottle overnight, regardless of how much I'd drink the rest of the day. If I didn't do that I'd get a splitting headache that wouldn't go away no matter what I did. If that doesn't work, you may need a chiropractic adjustment.

This can be perfectly normal due to hormones. I wake up with a headache 60% of the time and had a migraine that lasted 3 weeks around 11wks pregnant
