Will you be getting an epidural?

If you decided against pain medication, please tell me why! I'm wondering about the safety, possible side effects.

No medication for me. I've read that epidurals can cause the mother's blood pressure to drop, can cause permanent back problems and headaches for some women, they slow the labor process down, they increase the risk of needing a c-section, they can cause a slower recovery after birth, and can cause problems with breastfeeding.

I don't judge other women who do get an epidural or anything like that. It's just not something I want to do.

No way I'd let that 💉 near me. To me that's worse than going pain relief free. 
I've had 3 babies without and I'd much rather it, you don't have a catheter and are up and about and in the shower straight after. Also you can go home sooner 😊

I don't get epidurals. I think it's ridiculous that it is planted in women's minds that they are almost necessary. The use of epidurals prolongs labor, can decrease the amount of oxygen that the baby gets, opens the doors for many more interventions, doesn't allow your body to the necessary hormones that it is made to give off. Your body is amazing and knows exactly what to do. I trust my body and I don't need drugs put in my body to help me deliver my baby.

I plan on trying to go without pain medication. I feel epidural have too many negatives compared to positives. I rather not be immobile during labor. I have also heard that it  can have long term side effects with back pain or discomforts. They say natural is easier because you can control your labor and pushing better.

I honestly wanted the epidural but I was in an accident when I was 12 years old that pushed the disks of my spine together. So they wont do an epidural.

Only because the disc they would go in through is a bulging disc in my back from a car accident and I am not about to agitate that again. And medications beside Sudafed and ibuprofen make me pretty sick. So I'd rather suffer the pain and feel better when it's over rather than. Be sick for days. Because I definitely would be lol

I didn't have a choice. My plan from day 1 was to get an epidural. My daughter came too fast. I dialated from 4-10cm within 20 minutes or so & the anesthesiologists were both in surgery and couldn't make it in time.

I don't plan on getting an epidural because it can cause a drop in mine and the babies blood pressure, can cause permanent back issues, may not even work, I feel like the recovery would be easier considering I felt everything nothing will hurt as bad as pushing the baby, I also want to feel everything down there because at least then I can say something if something really doesn't feel right or I truly have the urge to push...

Some pain relief isn't worth it to me. However I also have an open mind to other options such as pain killers or laughing gas... it would take a lot for me to get an epidural, I don't plan to but I know things may change during labor.

My daughter is 5 days old, I did not get an epidural because there was no time I'm glad there wasn't. The healing process is so much faster, I was up and walking An hour later. And recovery is so much faster. Labor is ver painful.

I had an epidural a few months ago for an operation on my womb, it failed half way through so I felt everything, my blood pressure also hit the roof and I almost threw up over the nurses. No chance I'm ever doing that again!
