How accurate are the growth ultrasounds?

I get my ultrasound in 2 weeks when Im 34 weeks to see how big the baby is. I was curious on how accurate they are.

At 36 weeks I had an ultrasound showing the baby was over 8lbs. At 38 weeks they couldn't get an accurate measurement (cause he was too big). I had an elective csection at 39 +5 and he was 10lbs 9 oz! I used the information they gave me with the understanding that it could be off by 2 lbs either way...

My OB said ultrasound is only accurate up to 10 weeks. After that it can be off as much as 4 weeks!
