Am I wrong for wanting to be induced early?

My doctor gave me the option to be induced at 39 weeks so i took that option. For the reasons he told me and also because of the unbearable pressure and uncomfortable feeling, not being about to sleep and feeling like I can't go another day being pregnant. But I've had a few family members question why I'm doing it and quite frankly it's making me upset. They making me feel like it's a bad decision  because I don't have a serious medical reason for being induced. What do you guys think? P.S I'm being induced in the morning.

It's your birth, your body, your baby, so it's your choice. I highly recommend that you research (if you haven't already) the risks of induction and how it tends to lead to a myriad of interventions. As long as your decision is informed, I personally feel it is completely your responsibility to make the decision.

Doctors can often be wrong about dating so I always think it's best to just let your baby grow for as long as they need to and decide on their own to come out.  Plus as someone previously stated inductions can lead to a domino effect of interventions.  You have to make whatever decision you think is best. I just personally try to let nature take its course unless medical intervention is necessary!  Good luck with your birth!!!!!:) How exciting to meet your beautiful baby soon!

I'm being induced at 39 weeks too!!! I don't even feel a little bad about it, and I've had people question me too. Who cares what people think?? Don't stress now, just take a deep breath and you can do this! You are so close! I still have 3 more weeks!

That's annoying. People need to shut their mouths when they aren't asked for an opinion. Do what ever you want! I was induced at 10 days LATE and my midwife made me feel bad about it..,;they don't recommend it until 42 weeks. It made me so mad! People need to mind their own business. Good luck!

If your doctor is cool with it then have at it! My doctor told me we can start talking induction sometime after my next appointment (Which is on wednesday, my due date) they make you wait until 41 weeks but said we can talk possible dates and such.

If they feel baby is fully cooked and it's safe to induce, then who cares what friends or family say. It's up to you!

I was given the option of when to have my cesarean. This is my second pregnancy and I chose 39 weeks.
