I want the love back

Um I have this close friend of mine he,s like my best friend, we spend practically everyday together,we are not dating but we know we care about each other.and God knows I love him so much,recently he got quite romantic Nd emotional wit me,it was like a rush,he started touching me,kissing me all over but i could feel him resisting and struggling with his desires. he could just stare at me with longing in his eyes.but yesterday when i went to visit him he just stayed far away from me,avoiding any physical contacts he showed me love a bit but from afar,it really hurt my feelings because i really wanted another one of those moments with him,i really cant tell why he acted that way,please i need advice cause i want those moments back.
