5 days post partum, is this normal or should I go in to get checked?

As long as your blood clots are not continuously that big and your blood flow is not super heavy, it is normal.  If you have a lot of clots that size, and you're soaking pads in less than an hour, then it is not normal.  The clots are everything coming out that was left from birth.  As usual, you should always contact your OB for peace of mind with any questions or concerns.
