meetup.com?

Question

Has anybody used this site to meet some new people? We are relatively new to the area we live and was looking into finding some other young stay at home moms and I found a group that does a lot of meet ups but I'm shy haha I'm kind of nervous to go. Anybody had success with this site meeting friends?

I live in Seattle & belong to 4 meetup groups, I've met a lot of nice people & had lots of fun, I will say though that I don't see any of those folks outside of meetup, which is fine, I'm married, have a 6 year old stepson, am currently 28w5d pregnant & I do a lot of things w/ my 2 older sisters so I'm a busy lady, l got on meetup in the 1st place when I was single & out of work & I just wanted to get out of the house! It was perfect for that, I usually went to something once or twice a month now it's more a few times a year.
