Infected Belly Button Piercing?

Question

Drunkenly got my belly button pierced last Wednesday. I've been cleaning it multiple times a day with hydrogen peroxide and triple antibiotic ointment, I'm just not sure if that green color is normal or not. Scabbing or infected?

Never use hydrogen peroxide on a body piercing, it kills the cells that help it heal. Use sea salt and water, it looks like your body tried to reject it. Just keep it clean and if you didn't get it done in a shop you need to go to the doctor and make sure they didn't use a dirty needle on you.

Stoooooooop using peroxide and ointments!!!!!!!!!! Soooo badddd. Plain sea salt and warm water soaks twice a day. Either keep the piercing in or leave it out. Wash your hands. Before you touch!!!!!

Never remove the jewelry if you think it could be infected.  The jewelry is keeping the hole open so the bacteria can escape.  Removing the jewelry traps the bacteria in the piercing.

I used that sea salt spray for mine and it helped a lot. Or I would even dissolve sea salt in warm water, soak a cotton ball and just let it set on it. It will help clean it properly and soothe it if it's hurting... ouch.

Is puss coming out ? If you don't plan on keeping the belly piercing and it's infected you still need to keep in to drain the puss and get rid of the infection. You don't want it to heal with bacteria trapped inside. If you want to keep the piercing, you need to never take it out until it's completely healed. Only wash with saline

Any piercing that has any green or has redness or warmth radiating from it is infected. Belly button piercings are one of the hardest ones to keep from getting infected. Hydrogen peroxide is too harsh and you should be using a saline solution or a mild antibacterial soap if you really can't get saline. You shouldn't have taken it out until the infection was gone because now it's closing up around the infection. If it doesn't get any better after a day or two I would go to the doctor for antibiotics.

It's definitely infected. Are you washing it every day with dawn dish soap? That's what the girl who pierced me told me to do. Another person said not to use peroxide on it but I always did with my infections. Ears and belly button. I laid on my belly and just kept pouring it in my belly button until it would no longer fizz from puss and the next day it was good as new!
