Castor oil???????????

Hey I'm 39 weeks pregnant and my older sister told me to try a TEA SPOON of castor oil to induce labor. But I've also heard it's bad for you. But Is a tea spoon really that bad?? I mean Its barely anything???????

My OB told me that castor oil works as a laxative, not only for you, but the baby too. If the baby has a bowl movement while still inside you it can literally be fatal for the baby. Just something to think about.

Caster oil is dangerous. Don't listen to any wives tales. You can try walking or something, but whether you like it or not baby is coming when baby decides.

Took castor oil on Friday & had my son yesterday at 11:58am at 38+2... the oil worked but it brought on INTENSE contractions & vomiting so it's really up to you.

Each time my aunt went into labor she ate something spicy. She went into labor the next day the first time she did that and then a couple hours later with the second pregnancy.

I would walk and just do nipple stimulation ( but not when you are having contractions). I also heard that pumping your colistrom out helps too ! Although I never tried this, I would check with your OB...

Not only is that part not fun, it's not safe. It cases unnecessary contractions, forcing a baby that isn't ready to come out, and you're putting baby and yourself at risk. 
It sucks waiting, I understand but it's for the health of your child. And there's a huge difference between self inducing and being induced by your doctor.

my mom got me out with castor oil.. i was a week late lol. she did get really bad diarhea though. you should ask your doctor. some doctors will give you the ok
