is it bad?

Question

My child's father more or less said if i keep it we are done. I want to keep my baby.
Is it a bad idea if anyone asks to say he is dead? 
I haven't told my parents yet and i am three months gone.

Update: I know i sound crazy to say that. But my thoughts of one day getting asked by my child why they don't have a daddy. My family never knew about him to begin with as i was private with it so now I'm pregnant they will be demanding an explanation.

... How is saying he is dead better than just telling him you're keeping it and that if he doesn't want to be involved then okay. Child support payments and no involvement. Why can't you just do that??

No way. Just tell people the truth, that you broke up. If he doesn't want to stay with you or be involved with the baby, that's fine. But you should get a court order for paternity and child support once the baby is born, as you will most likely need financial help and it's his responsibility, too.

I wouldn't necessarily say he is dead but I would explain he and or you chose for him not to be part of your's and baby's life. There is no shame whatsoever in taking the best care of yourself and your child. Hugs!

I'm sorry but if a man tells you that if you keep the baby you're done I feel that's pretty selfish to have an abortion just so a guy stays with you. Any guy who actually loved you would stand by your side. He obviously took part in creating that baby. No guy would ever take a priority over my child whether it's still growing inside me or I've already have my child.

I personally wouldnt say he is dead. Just explain that you guys didnt work out and he didnt want to be involved with your baby. If anything it will just make him look like an ass which he deserves. No man should ever make an ultimatum like this. Imagine what he would do later on, sounds like he has issues he needs to work on before he should be with anyone.

Imagine the alternative, you have an abortion and he leaves anyway... how would that feel? You will do great without him (maybe better) and don't let it ruin your future, a baby is hope and a new boost to life, take the most out of it ! Screw the egotistic immature man, he is the only one who is going to lose. Let him go and don't look back! I was in a similar situation, decided to keep the baby (was very depressed) but unfortunately had a miscarriage. You would resent him eventually...
