bumpers?

My LO is 5 months and is quite the wiggle worm. She is starting to turn sideways in her crib, almost smacking her head. I've read conflicting recommendations for bumpers. What do you mamas do?

After his first night in his crib (in which he hit his head on the rails and started crying in the middle of the night), we decided to buy a mesh bumper. By the time we ordered, got it, washed it and installed it, he learned not to hit his head. However he also learned how to roll over and the bumper is good to keep his limbs inside. So far so good.

my daughter is almost 6 months and she has a bumper on her crib. I was worried about putting one on her crib because of googling and reading different articles with different opinions, but she was bumping her head and getting arms and legs stuck once she could move. I feel like if she is strong enough to lift herself up on her arms and roll all around she should be OK. Her room is on the top level of our 1970s tri-level house so it gets a little chilly up there some nights so I do also put a blanket that's crocheted on her after she falls asleep. That way she's less likely to put it on her face, but even if she does it's got big holes so it's breathable.

My LO is the same. Her head pretty much touch the crib rail but I haven't put the bumpers. She doesn't sleep with a blanket either. I've watched her and she puts it all in her face and I wait a few seconds and snatch it. She's not ready.....I'm definitely not. Lol
