unexpected premature babies??

Question

Can I hear some stories from moms who went the whole pregnancy just fine and unexpectedly went into labor before they were full term ..?

I went into labor at 30 weeks and dilated 2cm 50% so they had to stop the contractions with mag and gave me the steroid shots.  I was put on pelvic rest for 6 weeks and didn't have baby till 39+1 weeks!   So although I went into labor early I didn't have a premie.

I was perfectly fine, normal pregnancy, other than being diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 30 weeks. The GD was very mild and diet controlled (had the test 3 times because they numbers were so close). At 34 weeks, on the day of my baby shower, I woke up and my water broke. I went to the hospital and found out that I had severe preeclampsia and my body was trying to get my son out to save both of us. I had been to the doctor's 3 days prior and had normal blood pressure, just as I had every other time. No signs or symptoms of preeclampsia until that morning. They said I would have to deliver that day due to the blood pressure. Labored for 14+ hours and got to pushing, but his heart rate dropped, so I had to have an emergency c section. My son was in the NICU for 20 days to gain weight, but is a perfectly healthy (and huge) 2.5 year old now!

Answer

Normal pregnancy.  
No problems. 
1 drop of blood at 35 weeks and a scan showing a blood clot starting to drip...
An emergency c section 4 hours later!! 
Healthy 5-7 boy!!
