Has anyone had an anxiety in labor?

I am an anxiety patient, and often get panic attacks.. I am 22weeks pregnant and have been watching live birth videos on YouTube and seen ladies being calm and composed.. is there anyone who had a panic attack while in labor?

I'm worried about this also bc my anxiety stems from not feeling in control, so I'm just going to have to keep telling myself that my body knows what it's doing so that I do feel in control.

I have a phobia of needles and had a full on panic attack when they were inserting my IV in labor. I had tested positive for strep B and needed IV antibiotics. The end result was there was meconium when my waters broke and I had an emergency c section.  (My daughter's heart rate kept dropping and eventually stopped.)  I don't know if there was any connection or not. The funny thing is apart from the IV, everything went really well. So much so that I elected for a c section with my second daughter. After I had the panic attack one of the nurses said I should have mentioned it and they would have given me something to calm me down. Don't be afraid to mention it to the nurses. They're there to help you and have probably dealt with similar situations before.

I was so scared the whole way to the hospital because it was the realization that "this is really happening" that freaked me out. Once I was there though, I was able to calm down a little because the nurses I had were so nice and helped me relax

I know someone who had anxiety when it was time for the epidural.
