In the UK you only take it for the first 12 weeks to help with brain development. I didn't take it for my whole pregnancy and my LG is perfect

My doctor said to take till i run out. (I was given like 90pills) but said if I wished to continue to take it throughout then to ask him or my midwife

Folic acid is really most important in the preconception and 1st trimester phase as it prevents neural tube defects.

That being said - I've taken it since 8 weeks prior to TTC and every day and I'm 36+5.

I plan on taking it until I deliver
