Is it reasonable???

Boyfriend and I are moving to California soon. He wants to buy a house. We've been together a little over 2 years now. I'm thinking of asking him what his thoughts are on US signing for the house. Is this unreasonable considering we aren't even engaged? Or would it be reasonable to ask? I will be paying him "rent" either way to help out. Thoughts??

Of course there's nothing wrong with bringing it up for discussion!

My two cents is that if you guys break up, it will be a MUCH bigger pain in the ass if you both own the house than if one of you owns the house: who has to move out? There will be a bunch of legal stuff that'd have to happen. I would wait until you're at least engaged, not so much because of the engagement itself but more because if you guys are ready to get engaged/married, it's a mark of commitment & that breakup is less likely. Just my opinion though! :)

Y'all should be able to do a joint thing. Like both your and his name be on the house. However it would not hurt to ask him, that way you can both be on the same page.

We aren't married we bought we each pay half of the bills right down the middle. But the house is in only my name but he don't rent off me it's his home just as much as mine lol
