Guys I know it's a stupid question but what is metformin used for ? Please educate me !

It's a medication (pill form) used by diabetics to help regulate their insulin and glucose levels. Alto of women with PCOS also take it as insulin resistance quite often goes hand in hand with PCOS. Taking it when you have PCOS has some amazing effects in regulating your insulin levels, which in turn help to regulate your hormone levels, which make your cycles more regular and make it easier for you to conceive (:

Once you start taking metformin, do you have to take it forever? Can you stop once you the glucose level goes back to normal?

It's also used to treat pcos, it helps regulate insulin/glucose levels. I am starting it tomorrow
