Anyone here work for Child Welfare?

Asia • My husband and I have been ttc for 7 months, and just suffered through a heartbreaking ectopic pregnancy. My heart and body are hurting so much, I just want things to go back to normal.

Sorry not sure where this topic goes. This group seemed like the closest fit. I'm hoping to get advice from someone that works for DHS Child Welfare.

So I have a 9 year old daughter that my husband has been helping me raise since she was 3. Her own father has been involved very little. Her father and his girlfriend just recently had twins, and the mother has a no contact order and wasn't even able to see them, and the father doesn't have stable housing. They are both drug users, and there is suspected domestic violence. I feel so sad for these babies, and feel like I should help them, as they are my daughter's baby brother and sister. I called the worker when the babies were just a few days old, but all she could tell me is that they didn't have jurisdiction over the twins (I'm assuming they hadn't went to court yet). I know the hospital ended up letting the mothers grandparents take the twins, but it was clear that they were extremely overwhelmed, and struggling. They couldn't even figure out how to feed both babies at the same time. The twins are a few weeks old now, and I'm sure they haven't been returned to the parents, but that's all I know. I'm still really worried about them, but don't know what else I can do. I am hoping someone with inside knowledge can give me some advice please.
