Do consultants do all of the checks on baby?

My midwife has skipped my 34 week check up because she said there's no need as I have a consultant appointment at 34 weeks and she will do all of the checks. I never knew they did that. I've only had one other consultant appointment which was at 14 weeks and they didn't do any checks on the baby then they just asked me questions, this one coming up at 34 weeks is a review. At my 14 week one they said I have a competely healthy pregnancy and that if everything is fine at the review I have no reason to see them again. Well at my past 2 check ups with the midwife the baby was breech and i don't think hes turned yet. I really wanted my 34 weeks check up to see if he still is and obviously to be reassured that he's still growing on track etc. and I don't know if the consultant even checks for things like that. Would she if I mentioned it? Or would I be better off booking an appointment with the midwife myself incase they don't even check baby over?
