labor coming soon?

I'm 36 weeks + 5 days !!! I've been losing pieces of my mucus plug for 3 days now and today it's increased in amount every time i wipe , with a little bit of brown tinge( I'm not sure if that is from my cervical exam or not on Friday) ! I'm 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced As of Friday! And I've cramped nonstop since then . Does this mean labor is soon? I'm so ready for baby boy to get here . How long did you lose your mucus plug in pieces before you went into labor ?

I was 50% effaced and 3 cm dialated for almost 3 weeks. I ended up going into labor one day before my due date.

This happened to me after a cervix check. I was sooo hopeful. But contractions never became consistent or got worse and after a few days the brown discharge went away. So there's no way of telling for sure. Just have to wait & see if you start having regular contractions.

Everything you listed isn't necessarily an indicator of labor; some women lose their plug all through out their pregnancy, dilation can change in either direction.
Honestly the only real indicator isnuiir water breaking and contractions (real ones not BH).
