Vicks rub

Has anyone else asked their doctor about vicks vapor rub? I'm gonna call the office tomorrow and ask if it is ok to use. I'm honestly getting conflicting things about it online. I'm am at my witts end with my cough. I have the very typical pregnancy stuffy nose and it runs down the back of my throat making me cough. I have tried the steamy shower and the hot tea with honey. I just want to be able to sleep peacefully.
