Claim newborn on 2016 taxes???

Question, my due date is December 30th, I wanted to know if I could claim her on my taxes for 2016? I keep hearing so many different answers. Some say I can't bc she would be too young, brand new, and some say I can but it will only be up to 1,000. I live in Tennessee.

You can claim them as long as they're born before 12/31.

I think you have to support the child 6 months out of the year before you can claim the on your taxes. I sure you could find this information on the irs website

My friends daughter was born 12/23 and they claimed her and got plenty of money too.

If they are born before January 1st they can be claimed. 12:00am on January 1st is 2017

As long as the child is born before the first of the new year you are allowed to claim them.

I've been told you have to have before certain days before the last day of the year. But I've never really researched that ... I'd call a tax place and just ask! 😊
