post surgery & IUD removal

Today is day 4 of recovery after a Vulvar Vestibulectomy & I also got my IUD removed. I am currently bleeding but I'm not sure if it's post surgery bleeding or if I finally started a cycle.. I haven't had one since 2014. I've read that you can get a period as soon as an IUD is removed. Any ideas or help?!
