Yes, because why the actual hell would I not prevent these miserable diseases from happening to my precious little girl? I know it's scary to see your little one being poked, but research shows that your child is much better off getting the vaccine than getting the preventable disease...yes, I have done my research. Yes, I understand that we all have a choice in how we raise our children. Yes, I think it's ridiculous to deprive your child of life-saving medicine (unless for a medical reason, in which case herd immunity is the only thing that can protect those children...)..

My mother vaccinated me, and I got vaccines when I went to Africa. But if I'm offered them I politely decline. I never get flu shots either. I did that once and got SO sick it was awful.

Yes. But, like with my first, I choose an alternate schedule because personally I don't like to give more than 1 vaccine at a time and not for a few months after birth. I will do vitamin k at birth though. The vaccine book by dr sears is amazing and tells you what each vaccine is for, if it's rare or common and if it's treatable. Also the ingredients in each vaccine. He also gives his personal preference on which vaccines he thinks you should get and which ones would be okay to wait. I'm a stay at home mom, my kids aren't in daycare and I breastfeed so vaccines right away aren't necessary for us. Getting a vaccine doesn't mean you won't get what you vaccinate against. Some vaccines only work in certain strains of diseases but not all strains, like hpv for instance. But I believe in giving all vaccines (well all but one) just in different timing. My toddler is rarely sick, super healthy and the happiest baby you've ever seen!

Yes. Why would I risk my child's life and the life of others when I could get her a simple shot and she be okay? If she got polio or something I'd literally NEVER forgive myself.

Plus, who am I to risk the lives of other kids? Of children who have immune system issues, or little babies who aren't old enough to have their shots yet.

I won't get anything while I'm pregnant and the only thing I won't ever get at all is the flu shot, but that's really the only vaccine I'm against. Also my son won't get his hep B shot right at birth, but he will receive it at one of his checkups with his pediatrician.

We know we will be vaccinating, but what and when is a whole different story. I've felt like I had no idea where to even start to become knowledgeable in what exactly all the vaccines even are. So, thank you for giving the title of the book you read! Just ordered it off amazon. Maybe then it'll feel less overwhelming then.
