Fake nails?????

Question

If you need a c section are you allowed to keep your artificial nails on or will they ask you to remove them. I can't imagine every person who has had a c section has never had artificial nails!!!! Any feedback????

I read somewhere that you shouldn't have polish or anything on during delivery so they could tell if your oxygen was dropping. My husband laughed and called me crazy(he's a doc and was actually working in l&d when I was pregnant). He said it doesn't matter and they don't use the color of your nails to determine that. 
I'd say talk to you doc just in case but nails are fine.

You can't just remove those on command. You'd be fine. They would just have to monitor your oxygen levels somewhere else like your ear or forehead.

My hospital needed them off. They kept nail polish remover at the nurses station.

I had an emergency c section and I couldnt imagine them stopping right before my c section to make me take them off... I'm in Northern Ca and I've never ever heard of that. If you're wondering for them to monitor your vitals like they usually do with your finger... A lot of hospitals have the little tape kind that is adjustable to fit your finger verses the kind they just clamp on your finger. I never heard that tho

I'm not sure but definitely find out ahead of time from your hospital specifically! I would hate having my hands and fingers smell like acetone while touching my baby for the first time/trying to breastfeed for the first time etc 😂
