Propane heater

Hi ladies so I'm visiting my parents for the holidays and it is freezing where we are at. It's been a week since I've been here and they use a propane heater that is indoors and I can smell the gas when I get near it but my parents house is pretty well ventilated. I was just wondering is this could have any effect on my babes? I'm 24 weeks
