confused

So maybe y'all can help me out. My period was scheduled to come on the 20th of this month. When I used the bathroom there was a light pink discharge so I just put a tampon in there to be sure before bed. It's not the 22nd and all I've been seeing are the little traces of pink discharge but no blood and NO cramps. Does anyone have any idea why this could be happening ??
