baby kicking

Does kicking slow down towards the end? I am 36 + 5days today and for the past few days I haven't felt baby as much. I've still felt him here and there which is reassuring but he used to have very active times and he doesn't have that anymore. I have to really work at getting him to kick. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow so I'm going to bring it up but just wanted to see if this has happened to others as well.
