Successful Induction
Ryner Lee is here and now a week old!! I had him December 15 at 38 weeks. I was induced due to high blood pressure. I went in the hospital at 5 AM and was hooked up to pitocin by 6 AM I was already dilated 2 CM and about 50% effaced.. The cramps started and baby boy was happy happy happy bouncing all over the place so much so that they could not keep the heart monitor on him.. About 7 AM, my dr came in to break my water (that hurt bad, but only because my bag of waters was extremely thick and she had to give it her all to even break through it) and I was at 3 CM. The dr ordered the nurses to crank up the pitocin by 2 every 15 minutes.. I was progressing pretty good and starting to feel a lot of pain, but really couldn't decide if I wanted the epidural. By 11 AM the contractions were very very strong about 3 minutes apart I was literally wanting to crawl out of my skin it was that uncomfortable! The nurse checked me and I was at 5 CM. So, I opted to get the epidural. By NOON I was all set up and feeling much better. I let my husband go get something to eat (he was gone for about 40 minutes) by the time he came back the nurses came back to check me and I was at 7 CM and they had to place an internal heart monitor on baby boy because he would not stay still.. At 2 PM the nurse came in to check and I was at 9.5 CM. Oh my it all starts sinking in!! Anxiety comes on STRONG!!! The baby was still very high it literally felt like he was holding on to my ribs refusing to come down. The nurse got me to do 2 practice pushes to see if I could get him to come down.. I am assuming he did because she told me to stop. She went to call my dr and said she'd be back in 20 minutes for go time!! HOLY CRAP I AM ABOUT TO BE A MOMMY TO TWO!!!!! I really start freaking out, I was missing my three year old so much and just wanted him.. while face timing him the nurse comes in with the scale and all the delivery stuff!!! She put my legs in the stirrups and tells me to practice push one time. Then says okay give me a good push and another then starts telling me to stop stop stop she needs a doctor!! (I was oblivious and the epidural was clearly working because all I could feel was tons of pressure and I thought they were lying to me because he was just in my ribs!!) Then I felt my body pushing and I knew it was for real. My dr didn't make it and the dr that was at the hospital barely made it he didn't even have time to scrub up just gloves!!! Ryner was born at 3:20 PM weighing 8 lbs 3 oz and 19.5 inches long!!

He absolutely adores his baby brother!!!
