partner still smoking
I am about 8-9 weeks pregnant. My boyfriend is still smoking. When we talked about having a baby, he said he'd quit when we were trying officially. While we were trying, he didn't quit. He said he'd quit once we were pregnant. I'm pregnant, he still hasn't quit. He said he'd quit at the end of that pack, 3 packs later, still not quitting.
I'm so frustrated. He's quit before, cold turkey and lasted almost 10 months. He stayed quit through being sacked, Christmas, New Years, big birthday celebrations, a new job, financial stress, his car breaking down (all things I would have understood if he wanted to start smoking again). He started smoking because he was working with a guy who smoked. He lied to me about starting again. And now I'm carrying our first baby, a most precious baby, and he won't quit. I've told him about the risks to me and our baby and he doesn't seem to care- just tells me to f*** off or that it's my fault because I'm 'nagging him'. He thinks it's ok because he smokes outside, but it comes in under the door and on his clothes, hands, skin, hair, mouth. Not to mention the smell of it makes me feel sick. And he smokes in his car, so it's all through there too.
I feel like he's being so so selfish and doesn't care about our baby.
