So I was on a combined birth control regimen for like 2 years. It was yasmin and aygestin I took aygestin because I kept spotting throughout my entire active pill cycle even right after having a period with the sugar pills. I also was able to postpone periods for 3 months at a time and I really enjoyed that luxury I would only have to deal with periods every 3 months for 2 years. Then I wanted to start trying for a baby and was told I have pcos and it would be hard to conceive. My first gyno said taking yasmin and aygestin together for long term is very unhealthy but she didnt say why. I switched gynos because I wanted to use the two and the second gyno said it was fine no problem. Anyways looking back after needing infertility to conceive my son im wondering if the two caused me issues with ovulation giving me a diagnosis of pcos? After being off bc for my entire ttc journey with my first then the pregnancy of course and then I never wanted to start with hormone pills again I got pregnant while breastfeeding and with apparent pcos 4 months pp and am due in 5 weeks. Now im again nervous to start with hormone pills thinking perhaps it made my pcos worse or even caused it? Maybe it was just the combo since it was not meant to be taken together long term? Tia. I dont want to keep getting pregnant lol I need a bc option that will not cause or worsen pcos symptoms or cause infertility.
