question about pregnancy VS period symptoms

So I'm feeling all of my normal PMS symptoms and my period is due next week. Wouldn't that mean I'm definitely not pregnant... My rationale is that if I was pregnant and having pregnancy symptoms such as swollen/ sensitive breasts (which I am ) then there be enough hormone to test positively... Right? So, my swollen breasts must just mean my period is approaching? Am I understanding this correctly?
