10 week ultrasound

At my 10 wk appointment, is the ultrasound vaginal? I'm a first time mom so I'm just wondering what I should expect!

Itll likely be transvaginal and you should definitely be able to see and hear baby. You'll also get blood and urine work at every apt.

I had one at 8 weeks that was vaginal but the one I had at 10 weeks was not.

I had one at 6 & 12 weeks and it was abdominal. From previous experience, if they can't get a good picture adbominally, they do a vaginal one.

Most of the time it's vaginal, anything in the first trimester is usually vaginal as it is clearest.

Mine was vaginal which I wasn't thrilled about, but the pictures were so much clearer than friends who didn't have the vaginal kind.

It depends on your doctor. I had one at 7w and then one at 9w and there were both vaginal. My doctor said he could have done an abdominal at 9w but wanted to do a vaginal to get better details.

I had one in the hospital at 8 weeks and it vaginal. But it depends on the dr and the machine they have.
