How many weeks/ breast pump?

How many weeks along were you when you got your breast pump through insurance? And how do you go about getting it? Through doctor and where you pick up your prescriptions? Orrrr??

Best & easiest thing to do is

🚩 Grab your insurance card & call the customer service number

🚩 Ask the rep if your plan for YOU covers free breast pumps or how much you may have to pay

⚠ Mine was 100% free in the end, although when I called she warned me I may need to pay sales tax. Which is not bad, I'd rather pay $50 - $60 than $200 - $300 for the whole thing

🚩 Go on the website they give you & you'll need to input your personal info

🚩 The company will email you the next steps for you to take IF you need a prescription (I didn't need one) or it will be a email saying you've been approved and its been shipped (that's what happened to me)

🚩 The company my insurance uses doesn't ship it out until your 1 month before your due date

My doc won't write me a prescription until the baby gets here so idk what I'm going to do. I hope he latches on until I'm able to recieve one

Your doc will give you a prescription or authorization and it's best to go through a company like edge park or pumping essentials. They'll tell you exactly what your Insurance will cover. As to when, it depends on your insurance. Some carriers will let you get it a few weeks before birth, some won't cover it until the baby is born . Those companies I names will be able to help you with this. It's really easy.

I got mine one month ahead of due date but I placed the order when I was 5 or 6 months along. I just called my insurance company, they gave me the different websites for providers. I found the pump I wanted, placed the order online (providing my insurance details and shipping address). 30 days before I was due they sent me an email saying it was being shipped.

I got mine through the medala website, just had to put in the info for my blue cross coverage.  I was about 20 weeks, no prescription required.  I did pay for an upgraded bag/accessories.

I think I was around 20 weeks. I just called my insurance to see how they handled it and went from there. My insurance had a list of places I could get it from so obviously I went with a place on their list. I then called that place and they talked me through all the different option to figure out what I wanted and they did all the insurance work so I didn't have too.
