Having a SIDS brother I can tell u there is nothing u can do to totally prevent it. The suggestions are great but they aren't 100%

Lay baby on backs. No swaddling. No crib bumpers. Check baby every so often while awake. There are even mats you can buy or an owlet that alerts you if it doesn't pick up movement

We haven't seen a legitimate "SIDS" death in over 7 years... the SIDS deaths we see always end up being due to unsafe sleep environments. Also avoid tobacco or having baby in locations where tobacco is used, big risk factor

I found this product online called Owlet & what is a baby monitor that goes on the baby's foot like a little baby sock & it basically monitors your baby's heart rate & oxygen levels. It uses hospital technology like the pulse ox that they use on us & babies & whenever the baby's vitals go low a loud alarm will sound & a plus is that you can & connect everything to your phone. Not only will you hear the alarm from the little monitor/charger but you'll also get notified. I plan on ordering it for my baby. I had a friend whose daughter died of sids at 2 months old about 3 or so years ago & my cousin's 8 month old son just passed away last week from sids. So I'm definitely ordering this product & giving it a try.

My twin brother, William, passed from SIDS at about 10 days after birth. I was still at the hospital and in an incubator, but he was cleared as healthy and free to go home. It just happened. My parents had followed all the "rules" they have to prevent it. Sometimes it just goes that way.

I plan on having him sleep in the crib next to my side of the bed, nothing in the bed with him, no crib bumpers and I'm undecided if I'm going to swaddle or not. There's no sure %100 way to prevent SIDS unfortunately.
