Long distance boyfriend cancelled and can't come see me anymore, so upset

I haven't seen my boyfriend since October, and he was set to come spend a couple of days with me over this Christmas break. I'm from NY so we were going to go see the tree together and everything, we've been planning since November and I tried to plan a bunch of fun things we can do together and surprises for him. Today he told me he can't come anymore, and I've been so upset all day. I'm trying not to be because I know it's Christmas and that I should be happy but I won't see him until February or later now. I called him in tears and he stayed on the phone for a few minutes but then just told me he had to go to bed which made me feel even worse and I'm just so upset for some reason. If anyone who's been through this (or even hasn't) has some advice I'd really appreciate it 😔
