Proxy Marriage

What's everyone's opinion on a proxy marriage? Single proxy is when ONE person can't physically be present for various reasons (military service, employment, foreign national, etc.) so another person stands in during the ceremony. Double proxy is when BOTH people cannot be physically present so two people stand in during the ceremony. A handful of states will perform a single proxy marriage and only Montana performs a double proxy. However, they are legally recognized by every state, the military, and most countries after the marriage ceremony is performed. You can still have a religious or other ceremony later when both parties can be together.
