Child Support

My 2.5 year old has never met her father. He decided to go the moment i found out. His father is in her life and loves her more than anything. Now i have never gone after child support because i really don't have the money to get a lawyer. However, my child's grandfather is begging me to do it and says he will pay for it because he thinks it will make his son grow up and be in her life. I don't think it will at all. What do you ladies think? Do you think child support and proving she is his will make him be in her life or not?
