Cant decide😔

I wanna try to breastfeed when I have my baby but everyone seems to have a problem with people who feed there kid in public so I was gonna try to formula feed my baby. I've been told I breastfeeding is better and healthier for the baby. I'm a ftm so I honestly don't know which way is better. I was thinking about breastfeeding while at home but if we go out give my baby formula, but I don't wanna confuse my baby. I know everyone is different and some will say breastfeeding is better and others are gonna say formula is the best so I wanted everyone to tell me there experience with what they do, just so I have an idea.please No bashing me because im concerned about public breastfeeding plz, I have nothing against it, I just don't want a public scene if someone decides to say something to me about it. I'm only 16 so I feel like it would cause a lot of people to judge. I've been very badly bullied even before pregnancy😔

Thank you everyone💜

Please no rude comments, I'm new to this. (I'm actually really scared to post this because how hard people hate on others)

I would suggest pumping your milk and keeping it in fridge/freezer for when you do go out. ☺️

Girl breastfeed your baby it's healthier and don't worry about what other people think. If u want to use a cover use one or your jacket or watever and if you don't u don't have to. You are just going to have to have the courage and confidence and keep reminding yourself this is for my baby and my baby comes first over anyone else's discomfort. Once u start it's so natural u won't care after while.

There are lots of arguments for why breast milk is better... One awesome one is that it almost magically is able to give your baby antibodies for sickness. If you pump your milk for when you may need to bottle feed you might even see a color change in your milk when the baby is sick! Or your baby may not even get sick while you are breastfeeding!Another huge factor is simply that breast milk is free!!I have a friend who has switched to formula now that her baby is a little older and she goes through up to $60/week in formula. I highly suggest giving breastfeeding a try. You can have your doctor or midwife refer you to a lactation consultant who will help you learn to feed without pain.

And, if you do decide to breastfeed there's lots of support groups on FB as well as La Leche Leauge (its a group that meets up), that may be able to help you offset the negative comments you might receive. Good luck!

I understand. And definitely do what's best for you, no matter what anyone says. But it's my opinion that anyone who has a problem with you feeding your baby in public, well, that's their problem and not yours! Get a cute cover up, and feed your baby with pride!

Who cares what people say! You're feeding your baby like a good mama, breastfeeding is best for babies, don't let others bring you down!!!!!

Who cares if someone has an issue about breastfeeding. If that's what you want to do then go for it. 😊 if you want to formula feed, hey either way fed is best! You could also pump if you wanted too.

how does pumping work?

It's entirely up to you. I'm choosing to formula feed because it will work best for our situation. But you can always pump and have bottles of breast milk for while out in public if you decide to breast feed. I would pick a bottle like Tommee Tippee or Dr. Browns. They're supposedly closest to a breast. Some babies get confuses between bottles and breasts and end up rejecting one of them.

You can always breastfeed at home or somewhere private and when your out in public just pump and bottle feed. You can get a collection going and put it in the freezer for when your out. Or you can pump before you go out.

I'm planning on breastfeeding but I don't plan on breastfeeding in public. I will be pumping for the days I'm out or if I'm leaving my baby with my parents or his parents.

I breastfed for 2 months (mainly exclusively pumped that last month). My little one took so long to feed that I never breastfed on public. I'd always take a bottle of pumped milk with me when we went out. He started getting bottles of pumped milk at 2 weeks old and we never had issues with switching back and forth.

I don't think it's true that most people have a problem with breast feeding in public. I think it's a very small minority that have an issue. If you want to bottle feed pumping is always a possibility.
