pre existing high BP and pregnancy. help?

Question

I have had high blood pressure for about 10 years and medicated for the last 7. I'm now 11 weeks pregnant and can't stop freaking out that I'm going to get pre eclampsia or have to deliver early.

Can anyone share their stories, good or bad with pre existing high bp and pregnancy to ease my mind? Is it possible I'll be ok and carry full term?

I developed high blood pressure in March and got pregnant in May. It has been a challenge for me my whole pregnancy. I've been on my meds, and my doctor took me out of work at 24 weeks, my job is stressful though. Once I stopped working It's been a little better. My doctor is going to induce me at 38 weeks and 2 days though due to my pressure being high. Best of luck to you!

I usually don't get high blood pressure until I get pregnant. But all 5 of my previous pregnancies were good. Never had any major issues with them. I had to do 24 hour urine collections a couple of times to check for protein. The beginning of this pregnancy it was extremely high so they put me on blood pressure medicine. I'm hoping this pregnancy continues uneventful.
