When are you going to start buying baby stuff?

I'm just curious as to what everyone's stance is on when to start buying maternity and or baby items. I'm pregnant with a rainbow baby, so naturally, I'm terrified to buy anything until after the first trimester! How about everyone else, what's your take? After 1st trimester? After you know gender? Immediately after you get your BFP?
