how bad is a vaginal delivery?? BECAUSE I'M FREAKING OUT.

Question

I might just be totally freaking out because I have less than 9 weeks left, but I am ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIED of a vaginal delivery. Mostly the aftermath. I'm going to be 21 when I have my baby and this was an unplanned pregnancy (but I am excited and totally in love with our lil man already). 
I have a seriously high pain threshold, and it's not the actual labor I'm scared of. It's the aftermath and the healing after. I'm scared I won't go back normal and be all kinds of messed up down there (sounds ridiculous. I know) 
I know this sounds totally selfish to some, but it's a fear I just cannot shake and it's gotten so bad recently that I am going to discuss a c-section at my next appointment. 
I just want honest opinions from the women who have gone through a vaginal delivery or really anyone else's opinions on this.

Your body is meant to deliver a baby vaginally, that is what it is built to do. Having a major surgery to remove the baby from your body is going to leave a permanent scar and be a harder recovery.

A c section is more disfiguring. My incision got slightly infected and I have a bunch of weird valleys and hills in my belly. Do vaginal if you can help it. I know someone that had major tearing during vaginal and the recovery was way worse than my c section but she said she's all normal again down there.

I actually found the healing after both of my vaginal births to be fairly quick and painless. I mean, there was discomfort for sure, by you'll be sent home with horse sized ibufrofens which help a lot. Get gas x because the after gas can be quite miserable, if not worse than labor. But your vag will bounce back within a week or so. I was able to walk after labor no problems. Your body is built for it. You have to give up control and let your body take over.

I got tighter after my natural delivery thanks  to some stitches in the vaginal canal.

Both of my boys were vaginal and caused tears.  Your real fear should be when you need to take your first shit after delivering, especially if you got stitches!  However, my fear is a c-section above all else.  Talk about destroying your body!!

Almost six weeks postpartum and eVerything looks and feels pretty much back to normal. Unmedicated home birth with a midwife. Was able to walk immediately after birth, took a shower that night and everything. i walked with a bit of a waddle for about 3 or 4 days, because one of my labia was quite swollen and painful when it rubbed, and my bum was quite sore, too. An easy recovery all in all, though. Heck, I'm ready to do it all over again, lol.

I had my first son at the age of 20, you gotta get this in your head..AFTER THE BABY IS OUT,EVERY PAIN IS GONE..of course you need to rest and this and that.. but I had my son normally, I dilated until 7 by walking in the hospital..and I had pain but nothing you can't handle.. after that.. the doctor decided to break my water bec I was dilated already so after that.. the real contractions came.. every 5 min.. and then less.. when I felt that I was ready to push.. bec your body calls you to push..that's when you know that baby is coming.. so on the 3rd push or 4th push the baby was completely out..and every single pain was gone..also I didn't take the epidural... I decided to do it without it..I wouldn't recommend you a c-section bec then you'll have to rest even more.. and I've heard that it hurts a lot after everything..I'm expecting my second child and I am begging that I can have a natural birth .. just like the first one.. I'm not afraid of having a natural birth and without epidural.. I think it's better like that and faster.. good luck to you!
